BYD subbrand Fang Cheng Bao reveals three new electrified models
Head of design Wolfgang Eggert hosted a conference on April 16 in China for BYD subbrand Fang Cheng Bao, revealing two new SUV concepts and an electric supercar concept.
Car News China reports the entry-level mid-size fully electric 4.7 metre Super 3 concept, featuring a drone port on its roof and large off-road tyres with massive fenders and a high ground clearance, will be known as the Bao 3 once it reaches production.
According to Car News China, the Bao 8 Large SUV is not a concept but a near production-ready flagship for the brand. It will likely feature a PHEV system.
It sits on BYD’s Dual Mode Off-road (DMO) hybrid platform. It will feature a three-row seat layout equipped with BYD’s Disus-P suspension system.
According to Car News China, the boxy design of the Bao 8 slightly resembles the flagship U8 SUV of its sister brand, YangWang. It also features a lidar on the top of the windshield.
Once launched, it will compete with the Toyota Land Cruiser or Tank 700, and Car News China expects it to enter the market in the third quarter.
According to Car News China, the Fang Chen Bao Super 9 concept supercar created by Eggert, who previously designed for Lamborghini and Audi, will be fully electric once in production and called the Bao 9.
