Caltex Te Ngae installs Plug & Save EV chargers
The Kiwi-owned Plug & Save EV fast-charging network says its customer usage has increased by 50% monthly. The network has recently expanded, with the first Caltex station installed and others to follow.
The Caltex station, located at 520 Te Ngae Road, Rotorua, is the first of many independently owned fuel stations to select the Plug and Save fast charger to satisfy EV customer demand.
Station owner Jarrod Blundell is pleased with his new Plug and Save charger.
“We have many valued customers loyal to Caltex Te Ngae over the years. We aim to improve the range of products and services continually we offer them. I wanted to provide them with the convenience of a one-stop-shop, whether topping up with petrol, diesel, LPG or an electric vehicle battery charge,” Blundell says.
“Offering a clean, safe, and friendly site and the ability to grab a snack to eat or refreshments while charging their EV ensures our customers have the same positive and convenient experience they have always enjoyed with us,” he says.
Offering an output of 160kW, Plug and Save’s fast chargers offer an industry-leading average output from chargers that incorporate technology that eliminates the need for high-cost installation infrastructure and is ideally suited for installation in remote locations or for use at independently owned businesses.
Another key advantage of plug-and-save chargers over other fast chargers is that customers can pay for their top-up via payWave-compatible EFTPOS Debit or Credit Cards without needing an account, app, or charging fob.
Charging can be paid for like any other fuel or grocery purchase, simplifying the charging process.
“We welcome Caltex Te Ngae to the Plug and Save network,” managing director Deon Cooper says.
“The cost-effective, relatively easy installation process is a major consideration for independently owned businesses when selecting an EV charging solution to offer their customers. This, coupled with industry-leading charger output, makes Plug and Save a perfect solution for owner-operator businesses,” he says.
