Compact BYD model arrival unlikely in 2025

BYD Automotive New Zealand country manager Warren Willmot has reiterated that the brand will launch 15 new models over the next 24 months, placing a vehicle in each market segment.

But Willmot says it is unlikely that New Zealand will see the BYD Seagull/Dolphin Mini, which shares similar dimensions to the Kia Picanto in 2025.

This follows Drive.com.au’s speculation that Australian distributor EV Direct will import the Seagull/Dolphin Mini or the Yuan Up (Yuan Plus in China) to that market.
