Dodge is expected to announce some of its all-electric models at Dodge Speed Week in Michigan, August 15-17.

A Dodge spokesperson confirms its next-generation platform will ditch the Hemi V8 and all internal combustion engines (ICE) for electric.

Emailing Motor1.com, the spokesperson says a MotorTrend story stating the Hemi would return for the future Charger and Challenger models is “incorrect” and that the next generation will be battery electric (BEV).

Hybrids also appear to be ruled out.

The new electric Dodge muscle car is expected to be produced later in 2024 or early 2025, with the Hellcat and other V8s discontinued by 2024.

An electric RAM is also due in 2024.

Dodge and RAM come under the Stellantis multinational automotive corporation established with the 2021 merger of Fiat, Chrysler Automobile (FCA) and the French PSA Group.

New Dodge cars are no longer mass-sold in New Zealand but Dodge vehicles can be serviced here.
