Drive Electric is seeking a new chief executive

Drive-Electric-001

Drive Electric has confirmed the departure of chief executive Brian Dewil to its membership via an EDM on January 16.

In the email to members, Drive Electric thanked Dewil for his contributions to the organisation and wished him well in his future endeavours.

Drive Electric appointed Dewil as its incoming chief executive at the end of October 2024.

At that time, chairperson Kirsten Corson said the organisation wanted to expand its focus from passenger vehicles to light and heavy commercials.

Now, the organisation has begun the recruitment process once again.

“While the Board’s recruitment sub-committee works to appoint new leadership, our entire team remains dedicated to ensuring a smooth transition,” Drive Electric says.

“We’re fully committed to delivering on our key priorities and continuing to provide value to our members.

“Building on the successful discussions we had with the central Government last year, we’ll maintain our momentum in advocating for policy and regulatory improvements that support the mainstreaming of e-mobility—especially in areas like charging infrastructure and heavy transport.

“We’re also excited to share that our 2025 event schedule is shaping up to be our best yet. It will feature educational and engaging opportunities for all our members. We look forward to seeing you there as we work together to advance e-mobility across New Zealand,” the announcement says.
