EECA seeks finance information to support clean energy and EV upgrades
The Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) is seeking information from financial institutions to help build a national overview of finance products that support energy-efficiency upgrades, including electric vehicles, solar, clean heating and industrial electrification.
Through a new Request for Information (RFI), EECA aims to catalogue the finance options available to business and household customers, making it easier to compare loan structures, eligibility criteria and the types of upgrades each product supports. The tender closes on 23 January 2026.
EECA says many suitable finance products sit within broader green-loan or sustainability offerings and are not always easy for consumers to identify.
The information will be used to develop guidance on EECA’s website, helping customers find finance pathways for clean-energy technologies, including EV purchases and charging installations.
Financial institutions are being asked to provide details on product types, key features, interest-rate structures, eligibility rules, supported technologies, application processes and any exclusions. EECA says presenting this information in a consistent format will make it easier for customers to compare providers and identify suitable finance.
The initiative is intended to highlight existing finance options, improve visibility of support for low-emissions upgrades and identify where customers face gaps or confusion when seeking funding for efficiency improvements.
