Electric Kona teased; 470km range

Hyundai Motor has released a first teaser image of its first fully-electric SUV ahead of the official unveiling, on February 27.
The electric version of the recently-released small Kona SUV is expected to launch from the middle of this year. It is yet unclear if or when it will come to New Zealand.

Hyundai have indicated there will be two versions, though do not say if this means battery and plug-in hybrid versions, or two different battery sizes.

Hyundai claim one of the versions will have a ‘class leading’ range of 470km – suggesting a significantly larger battery than the 28kWh unit in the Ioniq lift back.
