Evoke e-motorcycles NZ to get eight new bikes from Australia

Australian Evoke electric motorcycles national sales manager Peter Hull is bringing eight e-motorbikes to New Zealand in mid-November and will provide his expertise to the Kiwi Evoke distributor/dealership team.

Frustrated with obstacles in Australia to distributing updated Evoke Urban S and Urban Classic electric motorcycles, the Wagga Wagga-based Hull says he’s shipping eight of them to New Zealand and he will help support the EV switch here personally from November 19 to December 6.

A mechanic, passionate life-long motorcyclist and director of Australian e-motorcycle importer Clubshed, Hull has Australian EV qualifications he hopes to put to good use in New Zealand while here.

“I want to support the EV revolution in New Zealand,” says Hull, adding he’s keen to help with electric motorcycle training and understanding.

No prices are yet available for the eight Evoke e-motorcycles Hull is shipping to New Zealand, but Evoke NZ expects they will be distributed among three dealerships – on Auckland’s North Shore, in Pukekohe and in Christchurch.

The Evoke e-motorcycles have a 10kWh battery producing around 160km real-world range (up to 250km city and 175km mixed highway and city) and are well suited to urban zero-emission commutes, says Hull.

The Hong-Kong registered company has its e-motorcycles made in Beijing on their new production line to ensure a quality build.

They produce about 20kW power, more than 200Nm torque and can get from zero to 60km/h in about 2.5 seconds.

Both Hull and his Kiwi counterparts are looking forward to reviving e-motorcycles in New Zealand following COVID related disruptions during the past few years.
