Farizon SV electric van debuts with platinum ANCAP safety grading
Farizon’s new battery-electric SV has entered the local market with a platinum safety grading, after recording an 84% collision-avoidance score in ANCAP’s latest Commercial Van Safety Comparison programme.
The SV is the first Farizon model assessed by ANCAP and arrives with standard autonomous emergency braking for car-to-car, pedestrian and cyclist scenarios, as well as lane-support systems and driver monitoring. ANCAP says the electric van delivered strong overall performance, with testing showing good results across its AEB and lane-support assessments.
However, the model does not include AEB back-over capability or a speed-control function, contributing to a marginal result in speed-assistance systems.
ANCAP chief executive Carla Hoorweg says Farizon’s debut performance reflects rising expectations for active-safety technology in the commercial-van segment.
“Farizon’s entry reflects the high standard Australian consumers and fleets expect straight out of the box. This is a really encouraging first showing and adds to the growing range of safe electric vans now available,” Hoorweg says.
The Farizon SV, classed as a light commercial NA vehicle, has been on sale in Australia since June 2025 and is fitted with a full suite of collision-avoidance features, including autonomous emergency braking, lane-departure warning, emergency lane-keeping and blind-spot monitoring.
The grading forms part of ANCAP’s broader Commercial Van Safety Comparison, which evaluates the fitment and performance of active-safety systems rather than issuing traditional star ratings.
