Farizon V7E achieves electric van price parity
The Farizon V7E electric commercial van has launched in New Zealand at $55,990 plus on-road costs, achieving price parity with the country’s best-selling internal combustion medium vans.
The fully electric van combines a 67kWh battery with up to 329km WLTP driving range, targeting trades, fleets and logistics operators looking to transition to electric power without compromising on capability or cost.
Farizon New Zealand Brand Manager Kevin Richards says the timing aligns with government investment in charging infrastructure, making fleet electrification more practical than ever.
“Growing investment in public charging infrastructure means the switch to electric has never been more practical,” Richards says in a statement.
“Fuel prices are rising and businesses are looking hard at every cost in their operation. The V7E gives fleet operators a genuinely competitive alternative, not just on purchase price, but on the day-to-day running costs that really add up over a vehicle’s life.”
Commercial capability with electric efficiency
The V7E delivers 7 cubic metres of cargo capacity and a payload of up to 1243kg, powered by a 100kW electric motor producing 230Nm of torque. Dual sliding doors improve accessibility in tight working environments, while a 750kg braked towing capacity adds operational versatility.
The van supports vehicle-to-load functionality, allowing operators to power tools and equipment directly from the battery during on-site work.
DC fast charging takes the battery from 20% to 80% capacity in approximately 30 minutes, while 11kW AC charging supports overnight fleet charging. The combination is designed to minimise downtime during working operations.
NordEast Group Managing Director Dane Fisher says the V7E represents the kind of practical electrification the New Zealand commercial market needs.
“Our goal at NordEast is to deliver 5000 electrified vehicles by 2028, and that only happens if electric makes commercial sense for fleets,” Fisher says.
“The Farizon V7E achieves true price parity with ICE vans – and then goes a step further, with better performance, smarter technology and lower operating costs. It’s a vehicle that doesn’t just help businesses transition to electrification, it makes that transition genuinely rewarding for both owners and drivers.”
The V7E comes with a 5-year/200,000km vehicle warranty and an 8-year/200,000km battery warranty. Service intervals are set at 12 months or 20,000km, designed to reduce maintenance requirements for commercial operators.
Farizon is the commercial vehicle division of Geely Group and is supported in New Zealand by the Giltrap Group. The V7E is available to order now through Farizon’s national dealer network.
