Ford Australia phases out ICE Puma in favour of EV

Ford-Puma-ST-2023-001

Ford Australia has announced that it will be phasing out the ICE variants of its Puma small SUV from May this year in readiness for the arrival of the battery-electric Puma Gen-E.

The Australian distributor is placing a greater focus on battery electric vehicles, light commercials and high-performance vehicles. Following the demise of the ICE Puma later this year, Ford Australia will not have any ICE passenger vehicles for sale locally other than the Mustang coupe.

Ford New Zealand spokesperson Tom Clancy says the current Puma line-up will remain locally, as the all-electric Puma is not expected until at least the beginning of 2025.
