Forthing NZ has added two new authorised dealer and service partners to its network, with Winger Motors on Auckland’s North Shore and Ebbetts in Tauranga both joining from July 1, 2026.

The expansion brings the brand’s New Zealand dealer network to six locations, following its April 2026 launch with four foundation dealerships: Forthing Central Auckland, Forthing Hamilton, Forthing Wellington (Lower Hutt), and Forthing Christchurch.

“We always said the initial four locations were just the beginning,” says Todd Groves, General Sales Manager for Forthing NZ. “Adding Winger North Shore and Ebbetts Tauranga is a clear signal that Forthing is here for the long term and that we’re serious about making our vehicles accessible to Kiwis wherever they live and work.”

New dealer locations

Forthing North Shore will operate from 75 Wairau Road, while Forthing Tauranga is initially based at 123 Cameron Road before relocating to a dedicated Forthing space at 115 Third Avenue in August.

Paul Govind, Dealer Principal of Winger Motors North Shore, says the addition fits well with growing local demand for lower-emission options. “With more North Shore drivers considering hybrid and electric options, the Forthing Taikon delivers strong value, great features, and competitive pricing. It adds another quality choice backed by the experience our team has built over 95 years.”

Julian Clements, Dealer Principal of Forthing Tauranga, says the brand aligns with what Bay of Plenty buyers are looking for. “The Taikon is a great fit for buyers who want genuine value without compromising on style or technology, and we think it’ll resonate strongly with Kiwi families looking for a smart alternative in the SUV space.”

The Taikon range

Forthing entered the New Zealand market with the Taikon, a medium SUV available in either super hybrid or full electric vehicle (EV) power. The range spans Luxury and Exclusive trim levels, with pricing starting from $39,990 plus on-road costs.

Every Taikon comes with a 7-year/200,000km factory warranty, an 8-year/200,000km battery warranty, and seven years of roadside assistance.

Forthing NZ says new models are due before the end of 2026, with further additions planned from 2027. The brand is backed by Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor Co., Ltd. (DFLZM), a state-owned Chinese manufacturer established in 1954 that sells vehicles in more than 100 countries.
