Haval’s driverless SUV and new electric brand revealed

Haval’s first fully autonomous pure electric SUV the Wey X and its new Ora all-electric brand were both unveiled at Auto China 2018 in Beijing.

The Wey X will offer L5 autonomous driving performance under the company’s luxury arm.

Ora will be dedicated to the development and manufacture of pure electric vehicles.

Two concept vehicles displayed at the show were the Ora R1 and Ora R2. Both electric minicars are built on a new platform dubbed ‘ME’, which incorporates maximum wheelbase in a small compact package.

Haval also released details of its multi-million-dollar electric motor development.

The company has built a new 6000 square metre research centre at its headquarters in Baoding, China, housing 19 electronic powertrain labs and six plug-in hybrid powertrain labs.
