Honda Super-One arrives in New Zealand ahead of launch

Honda New Zealand has confirmed the first shipment of its all-new Super-One electric vehicle has arrived in the country ahead of its retail launch on August 1.

The arrival follows the announcement of local pricing and specifications earlier this month, with Honda reporting strong customer interest since order books opened.

Honda New Zealand managing director Carolyn McMahon said the response had exceeded expectations.

“The response to Honda Super-One has been incredibly encouraging, with strong early interest from customers across the country,” she said.

“The first vehicles have now arrived in New Zealand and we can’t wait for customers to experience what makes Honda Super-One so unique. With demand continuing to build, and fewer than 50 vehicles available for delivery this year before increased volume arrives in 2027, customers wanting to secure their Honda Super-One in 2026 are encouraged to register their interest or speak with their local Honda Centre as soon as possible.”

The Super-One will be offered in two variants, priced from $41,990 for the entry-level model and $44,990 for the Kuro Edition.

Power comes from a front-mounted electric motor producing 70kW and 162Nm of torque, paired with a 29.6kWh battery. Honda quotes a driving range of up to 253km under the NEDC testing cycle.

Measuring 3.5 metres long with a 2.5-metre wheelbase, the Super-One is aimed squarely at the urban EV market. It rides on 15-inch wheels and features MacPherson strut front suspension, a torsion beam rear axle, ventilated front disc brakes and rear drum brakes.

Inside, the compact EV is equipped with a 9-inch infotainment touchscreen with built-in Google functionality, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and heated front seats.

The Kuro Edition adds a contrasting black roof and is offered exclusively in Boost Violet Pearl, while the standard model is available in Mono Grey, Crystal Black Pearl and Boost Violet Pearl.

Test drives and retail sales begin on August 1, with Honda also launching a nationwide Super-One roadshow starting in Auckland on the same day.
