Hydrogen express refueller opens in Auckland
New Zealand green hydrogen producer Halcyon has opened the country’s first green hydrogen fast refuelling station at Wiri, South Auckland.
The refueller, manufactured by H2H Energy and installed in partnership with MB Century and BECA, is on the Coregas site on Roscommon Rd.
In 2021, Halcyon (a 50/50 joint venture between Tūaropaki Trust and Obayashi Corporation of Japan) opened New Zealand’s first green hydrogen production facility at the Mōkai geothermal power plant northwest of Taupō.
The facility can produce 180 tonnes of green hydrogen per year using electricity generated by Tūaropaki Power Company.
