Hyundai Ioniq 6 receives more accolades
Hyundai Motor’s all-electric Ioniq 6 has picked up more awards after being named ‘Best EV Compact Executive Car’ at the Great British Fleet Awards and ‘Best Company Car’ at the 2023 Autocar Awards.
The latest accolades adds to the Ioniq 6’s list of accolades, which includes the recent 2023 World Car of the Year, World Electric Vehicle, and World Car Design of the Year awards.
Hyundai NZ chief executive Andy Sinclair says the team are “thrilled” with the news.
“This is further testament to the exceptional design, technology, and innovation that this vehicle embodies, all while maintaining Hyundai’s commitment to a sustainable future.
“The Ioniq 6 is an exciting addition to our electric vehicle range and we’re excited to have it in New Zealand.”
The model triumphed over several rivals to emerge as the clear winner in the ‘Best EV Compact Executive Car’ category at the Great British Fleet Awards. Judges praised its all- round appeal for fleet customers, hailing its high level of specification and suite of innovative features in particular.
The award recognised the Ioniq 6’s long-distance EV performance, high-quality interior, and array of advanced tech, making it a compelling choice for fleets.
The Ioniq 6 is now available locally with a recommended retail price starting from $79,990. Customers have a choice of two battery options: 53 kWh (standard range) or 77.4kWh (long range).
Furthermore, customers can choose an all-wheel drive version (AWD) with dual electric motors or a rear-wheel drive variant (2WD) with a single electric motor. The 77.4kWh battery delivers 239kW with 605Nm in the AWD variant and 168kW with 350Nm in the 2WD variant. The 53kWh battery is available only with the rear-wheel drive variant (2WD) and provides 111kW with 350Nm. All models feature the E-GMP platform’s standard 800v charging system providing 350kW ultra-fast charger compatibility.
