Hyundai offers customer support for Cyclone Gabrielle

Hyundai New Zealand Cyclone Gabrielle customer suppport

Hyundai New Zealand is extending a helping hand to customers affected by Cyclone Gabrielle (including those with EVs and plug-in hybrids), offering a range of support options to impacted customers and communities.

It is offering free Roadside Assistance to all customers affected by the cyclone, regardless of the age of their Hyundai. In addition, the company is providing deferred payments for Hyundai Finance customers to help them manage the cyclone’s impact.

EVs and Beyond featured a Hyundai Ioniq 5 owner who used the EV’s vehicle-to-load (V2L) function to power key appliances when their home lost grid electricity during the storm.

“Our thoughts are with those affected by Cyclone Gabrielle,” says Hyundai New Zealand chief executive Andy Sinclair.

Hyundai Finance customers can choose from two options – three months of deferred payments or three months of interest-only payments to give them some breathing room.

If a Hyundai has been damaged or written off as a result of Cyclone Gabrielle, Hyundai is offering free Roadside Assistance to all impacted customers. Additionally, the company is providing advice and guidance to customers who have questions or concerns about damage to their Hyundai.

“We know it’s been a challenging few days for many of our customers,” says Sinclair.

“We are here to help in any way we can, and we encourage customers who have been impacted to contact us for assistance.”

Hyundai has also provided vehicles to the Student Volunteer Army to mobilise its volunteer response to support those impacted by the cyclone.
