Images of BMW’s electric M3 leak online
Images of BMW’s all-electric M3 have surfaced online, just days after the company revealed its new electric 3 Series sedan, set to be called the i3.
The images, reportedly first published by RReplayer on the Bimmer Post forum, show the high-performance variant without camouflage for the first time, following earlier sightings of heavily disguised prototypes during testing.
The design appears to be based on the i3, with a more aggressive exterior featuring additional air intakes and a revised front end, including a central divider running through the grille into the lower bumper.
The styling marks a clear departure from previous M3 models, signalling a shift in design language as BMW transitions its performance lineup to electric platforms.
Reports suggest the electric M3 will be powered by four electric motors producing more than 800kW, which would make it significantly more powerful than any previous M3.
While performance is expected to improve, questions remain around weight and driver engagement as BMW adapts its M performance formula to an electric drivetrain.
BMW has not officially confirmed specifications or timing for the electric M3.
