“The interest we’ve had around the new models has been incredibly satisfying.

“The amount of research that has gone into the creation of these models, including the Servicepack X and particularly the new EV concept vehicles has been significant.

“Operators working in the freight and logistics field, particularly those involved in last mile freight, were eager to engage and learn about the new technology these vehicles use,” Harbison says.

Isuzu Australia chief engineer Simon Humphries says the new EV concept programme shows the company’s “commitment to evolution”.

“Lithium-ion batteries, direct-drive permanent magnet motors, on-board charging units that connect to three-phase power outlets … these are some of the innovations involved in the EV concept program which are very exciting,” Humphries says.

The Megatrans supply and logistics expo took place at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre from May 10 to 12.
