JAC Hunter PHEV ute’s global debut
The JAC Hunter electrified utility performance vehicle goes on sale in Australia early next year.
The JAC Hunter Dual-Cab 4X4 ute debuts JAC’s new 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine and dual electric motor combination, which produces 385kW power and 1000Nm torque.
It’s based on the JAC T9 Dual-Cab 4X4 ute that the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) has recognised as one of Australia’s safest utes.
JAC Motors revealed the new plug-in hybrid (PHEV) at the Melbourne Motor Show held on April 5 and 6, 2025.
While it may eventually arrive in New Zealand too, it’s reported the PHEV ute has yet to be tested to New Zealand conditions while a fully electric version was also shown at the Beijing Motor Show in April last year.
Australian pricing and specifications will be announced closer to the JAC Hunter’s arrival in Australian showrooms in the first quarter of 2026.
