Kiwi driver tries Jaguar I-Pace in Rome

Panasonic Jaguar Racing driver Mitch Evans tested the electric Jaguar I-Pace in Rome’s streets ahead of his first Formula E race there.

A video puts together his street driving experience and was filmed prior to the first ABB Formula E Rome E-Prix on April 14.

While New Zealander Evans loved the I-Pace drive he was miffed to miss victory in the E-Prix in his I-Type 2 when using too much energy to catch the leaders.

After qualifying third, Evans thought he had the measure of eventual race winner Sam Bird. But using extra power to catch the leaders and a full course yellow flag combined to force Evans from second to ninth.

The next Formula E event is in Berlin on May 19.
