New Zealand electric motorcycle company FTN Motion is set to launch its more powerful Streetdog 80 in February, following the success of its popular Streetdog 50.

And while many global competitors have struggled recently, the Kiwi startup is thriving with the entire first production run already sold out ahead of the February launch.

The Streetdog 80 can reach speeds of 80kph, with a 40% power boost to 7kW compared to the SD50. It offers an estimated range of 140km with an optional second battery ($2750), or 60-80km with a single battery. The SD80 includes 30L of storage and retails for $14,500, which includes a charging cable.
