Leapmotor launches 440kW C10 AWD in New Zealand

Leapmotor’s new C10 All-Wheel Drive electric SUV has launched in New Zealand, bringing 440kW of power and the brand’s first 800V architecture to local showrooms for $64,990 plus on-road costs.
The high-performance electric SUV delivers 720Nm of torque and accelerates from 0-100km/h in 4.0 seconds, positioning it as Leapmotor’s most powerful model to reach the New Zealand market.
“The latest addition to the Leapmotor electric SUV lineup is engineered for drivers who value power, versatility, and intelligent control,” says Brian Carr, General Manager – Sales at Auto Distributors New Zealand.
“The new C10 AWD redefines electric mobility by offering a seamless blend of high-performance driving and precision handling. It’s a bold statement of next-generation transportation, built to take you further, charge faster, and go anywhere with confidence.”
800V architecture enables rapid charging

The C10 AWD is the first Leapmotor vehicle to feature 800V electrical architecture, enabling DC charging at peak power levels of 180kW. The system allows charging from 30% to 80% in 22 minutes without pre-heating requirements.
The 81.9kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery provides a WLTP range of 437km. Auto Distributors New Zealand says the improved charging efficiency and thermally stable chemistry results in longer battery life and reduced stress on key components.
The dual-motor all-wheel drive system includes intelligent energy management that adapts to real-world conditions. The high-voltage motors operate more efficiently at high speeds, while the lightweight 800V system weighs 75kg and supports higher power regenerative braking.
Smart features expand through updates
Over-the-air updates have added new functionality to the C10 AWD, including enhanced driver distraction and fatigue monitoring systems. Recent updates introduced 360-degree dashcam functionality using the vehicle’s surround-view cameras and expanded voice recognition capabilities through the infotainment system.
Digital key sharing is available through the Leapmotor smartphone app, while the AI Smart Electric Drive motor includes lifecycle intelligent upgrades with electric drive health monitoring and cloud-based diagnostics.
The system uses deep learning of driver behaviour to continuously enhance software strategies, according to the company.
Premium interior and cargo space
Inside, the C10 AWD features a 14.6-inch 2K infotainment screen, 10.25-inch digital cluster, and 12-speaker 840W sound system. The cabin includes a panoramic glass roof and up to 1410 litres of cargo space with flexible seat folding.
The interior design follows a minimalistic approach with clean lines and reduced physical buttons. Ambient lighting and intuitive steering wheel controls are included, with over-the-air updates continuing to improve features over time.
The Leapmotor C10 AWD is available through Armstrong’s dealership locations in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch following its global debut at the Zurich Motor Show last month.
