Leapmotor has released interior images of its A10 compact SUV ahead of the model’s March debut, revealing a technology-focused cabin designed to compete with established players like the BYD Atto 2.

The A10, known internationally as the B03X, will sit beneath the Leapmotor B10 in the brand’s lineup and target budget-conscious buyers with a starting price below RMB 100,000 (approximately NZ$20,000), though would likely sit above the $30,000 mark if and when it lands in New Zealand.

Despite its affordable positioning, the A10 will feature premium technology including the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip – currently the market flagship – alongside the Snapdragon 8650 ADAS chip for advanced autonomous functionality.

The newly revealed interior images show a clean dashboard design with horizontal lines and protruding barrel-like air vents, complemented by embedded ambient lighting with digital patterning.

Premium tech in budget package

The cabin centres around dual screens: an 8.88-inch digital instrument display for the driver and a 14.6-inch 2.5K floating touchscreen running Leapmotor’s Leap operating system.

Additional technology includes a 15W wireless smartphone charging pad, dual-zone climate control, and a 360-degree camera system. The A10 also features an artificial intelligence assistant utilising Alibaba’s Qwen technology for enhanced voice interaction.

Surprisingly for a budget model, heated and ventilated front seats will be available, according to icons visible on the centre screen.

Family-focused practicality

Leapmotor has emphasised family credentials with several convenience features throughout the cabin. The most distinctive is a large concealed storage area under the rear bench seat, which tilts upwards for access.

The second row offers generous legroom and features a panoramic roof with an electric canopy for sun protection. The rear of the driver’s seat includes a fold-down tray table with built-in cupholder, while the boot provides substantial underfloor storage similar to larger SUVs.

Compact dimensions, dual battery options

Technical specifications position the A10 squarely in the compact SUV segment, measuring 4270mm long, 1810mm wide, and 1635mm tall, with a 2605mm wheelbase.

The drivetrain uses a single electric motor producing 90kW of maximum power, paired with two battery configurations. The base 39.8kWh unit delivers 403km of CLTC range, while the larger 53kWh pack extends range to 505km. Fast charging capability allows the battery to charge from 30% to 80% in 16 minutes.

Six paint options will be available: Seaweed Green, Acorn Brown, Berry Blue, Tundra Grey, Starlight Silver, and Morgan Pink.

The A10’s exterior follows Leapmotor’s “Tech Natural Aesthetics 2.0” philosophy, featuring a sealed front grille and soft, irregular-shaped headlight units. The model was first shown at the Guangzhou Auto Show in November 2024.

The A10 is currently available for blind pre-orders ahead of its March launch, with the model expected to compete directly against established compact electric SUVs in the Chinese market.
