Leapmotor has revealed an updated version of its C10 SUV ahead of a China market launch on June 16, bringing significant battery and powertrain improvements to the mid-size electric SUV.

The mid-cycle update introduces a redesigned front end that adopts the split-headlight treatment from the smaller B10 model. The new design features vertical headlights positioned below a light bar, complemented by chequered LED daytime running lights and a restyled bumper.

New wheel designs, including 20-inch alloy options, complete the exterior changes, while the rear of the vehicle remains unchanged from the current model.

Inside, the updated C10 gains a reworked layered dashboard design, a head-up display, and a larger infotainment touchscreen, though Leapmotor has not yet released full specifications for the interior changes.

The most significant update comes in the form of an enlarged battery pack for the electric version, which moves from 69.9 kWh to 81.9 kWh. The battery-electric C10’s motor output also increases to 230 kW, up from the current model’s specification.

The extended-range version, which combines electric drive with a petrol range-extender, now offers 290 km of electric range under the China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC) and 1300 km of total range. The range-extender retains its 1.5-litre petrol engine rated at 70 kW, but electric drive power increases to 200 kW.

The C10 update is part of a broader refresh that includes the C11 and C16 models, with all three vehicles going on sale in China on June 16.

Armstrong’s, Leapmotor’s local distributor in New Zealand, has been contacted for information on arrival timing and specifications for the New Zealand market.
