Mazda 6e confirmed at $58,990 for New Zealand
Mazda Motors of New Zealand has confirmed pricing for its all-new electric 6e sedan at $58,990, positioning the battery electric vehicle (BEV) in the premium segment ahead of its September showroom arrival.
The pricing matches information we published two days ago following a Reddit post from a customer who had been approached by a dealer. The single Takami grade model features a 78kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery delivering 560km of WLTP range and rear-wheel drive configuration.
The recommended retail price includes GST but excludes on-road costs and premium paint options.

Single variant strategy targets premium buyers
Mazda New Zealand is launching the 6e with just one highly equipped variant, departing from the multi-grade approach used for other models in its local lineup. The Takami grade combines the 78kWh battery with 190kW power output and 290Nm torque from its rear-mounted electric motor.
Charging performance is rated at 195kW on DC fast charging, enabling 10-80% charging in 24 minutes according to Mazda specifications.
The 6e represents Mazda’s second electric vehicle for New Zealand following the MX-30, and introduces the brand’s “Authentic Modern” design philosophy. Key styling elements include frameless doors and dynamic lighting signatures, with the front grille featuring illuminated wings that flutter during charging and indicate charge status.
Connected technology debut for local Mazda range

The 6e marks the introduction of connected vehicle technology to Mazda’s New Zealand lineup. The dedicated Mazda 6e app enables remote management of charging schedules, cabin pre-conditioning, and vehicle status monitoring.
A Bluetooth key sharing feature allows owners to provide virtual keys to up to three users, either permanently or for predetermined time periods.
Interior features include a panoramic roof, 14.6-inch touchscreen, 10.2-inch instrument cluster, and augmented reality head-up display. Seating combines tan Nappa leather with artificial suede cloth trim.
Comprehensive warranty and service coverage
All New Zealand-specification 6e models include Mazda’s Mazdacare programme, providing five-year unlimited mileage vehicle warranty and genuine scheduled servicing for five years or 100,000km at no additional cost. The high-voltage battery receives extended coverage for eight years or 160,000km.
The programme also includes Mazda On Call roadside assistance for the warranty period.
Mazda dealers are now accepting orders for the 6e ahead of the September 2026 arrival date, with the company reporting strong early interest in the electric sedan.
