MG has added a two-tone Special Edition to its MG4 Urban electric hatchback in New Zealand, priced at $39,490 plus on-road costs.

That is $500 more than the standard MG4 Urban Essence 54 at $38,990, and the Special Edition uses the same battery, motor and 17-inch Starburst alloy wheels.

What the extra $500 gets

The Special Edition comes in two colours, Diamond Red and Ice Blue, both with a black-painted roof and black side mirrors. Ice Blue is not offered on the standard Essence 54.

Inside, it adds extended ambient lighting on the front door panels, and swaps the standard car’s PVC upholstery for black and grey fabric. MG NZ is also offering $0 deposit finance on the Special Edition through Heartland Bank.
