Nelson company launches lift-free e-bike rack

Nelson-based company Goover has unveiled what it describes as the world’s first bike rack that allows users to load an electric bike without lifting it.
The Goover Lift-Free E-Bike Rack enables riders to load an e-bike at ground level before wheeling the rack onto the vehicle’s towball, eliminating the need to lift bikes weighing between 25kg and 35kg.
Goover founder Frank Witowski says the product addresses one of the biggest frustrations facing e-bike owners.
“There are more than 100 million riders over the age of 50, many of whom struggle with lifting heavy electric bikes onto traditional transport racks,” Witowski says.
“But this innovation isn’t only for them, it’s for everyone who wants to enjoy their cycling.”
Witowski, who also founded e-bike company Hybrid Bikes, says the idea came after years of feedback from customers who enjoyed riding e-bikes but found transporting them difficult.
“Until now, loading an ebike has remained a heavy, awkward, and often unsafe task for many riders. Even riders who invested in premium, lighter carbonfibre bikes still had to load 25–35kg frames onto high-mount racks.

“I’ve seen that issue firsthand and it was a problem I wanted to solve.”
Goover says the rack was developed over 18 months, from initial concepts in Witowski’s Nelson garage through to manufacturing in China.
The company says the product has passed E-Mark and ECE R26 European bike rack testing and recently received the Global Business Innovation Excellence Award 2026 from The Enterprise World magazine.
Witowski says the company’s patented lift-free mechanism offers a unique solution in the growing e-bike market.
“Goover’s patented lift-free system changes the game entirely. It’s a true reinvention of the ebike rack. It’s simple and completely unique to the market.”
Goover says it aims to expand internationally by offering a patented transport solution designed to make cycling more accessible and independent for riders worldwide.
In addition to the lift-free rack, the company also produces the Goover Box, a towball-mounted 330-litre storage box designed for transporting sporting equipment, work gear and other cargo.
