New e-bike ‘further, faster, easier”

A new electric bike from a new company will launch in New Zealand this month.

Sinch Electric Bikes is promoting its new e-bike on value for money, quality, servicing and family involvement.

Parent company Delve DMD is confident that Sinch Electric Bikes will be a significant contender in the NZ cycling industry.

Sinch co-owners Kim Struthers and Stephen James have been involved in the cycling business for more than 20 years.

Struthers’ father John created the Avanti bike brand during the 1980s, and son Kim has more than 25 years’ experience in the bicycle industry.

James is a former NZ representative rider and has been in the industry for at least two decades.

“Our quest is simple; to make biking more accessible, affordable and enjoyable for more people,” Kim Struthers says.

“What we want is provide consumers with incredible value for money.”

In addition, the two are promoting a new business model to change the experience in bicycle showrooms.

The 22 stores nationwide will all have a ‘Sinch Experience Centre’, allowing customers to take a test ride and make their selection.

Delivery takes five days and the bike is assembled by a specialist mechanic. Bikes are customised to suit the individual’s riding style.

“We really want Sinch customers to have the best cycling experience,” says James.

All Sinch e-bikes are equipped with a Shimano mid-drive motor and components, have a 32km/h top speed and 150km range depending on terrain and mode of riding.

Four main types of e-bikes include the step-through Jaunt unisex model, the Rush commuter, the Mode and Mode Women’s bikes for on or off road riding and a Junior version not just for youngsters but shorter adults too.

Prices start from $2899.

The initial Sinch range will be in stores from late April and the full range offered from late May 2019.
