The 6000-strong team will also build upgraded versions of the Qashqai using the new e-Power technology.

The next generation Juke – available for the first time as an EV – will arrive in FY26, says Nissan.

The new Micra was designed at Nissan Design Europe in London, using AmpR Small platform shared with Renault’s R5 says Nissan, adding it will be available with two battery options – 40kWh and 52kWh, providing a maximum range of about 400km.

Micra production at Ampere ElectriCity plant in Douai, France, will start before the end of the year, says Nissan.

Third generation Leaf EV production will follow, using Nissan’s CMF-EV platform shared with the Ariya.

Nearly 250,000 e-Power equipped vehicles have been sold in Europe since its introduction, says Nissan.

‘’The renewal of Nissan’s European line-up is the realisation of our bold plan to electrify our range in Europe,” says Nissan AMIEO (Africa, Middle-East, India, Europe and Oceania) region sales and marketing regional senior vice president Leon Dorssers.

The announcement of new electrified models for Europe is part of a wider product update, with strategic new global model launches announced across Japan, the US, China, Latin America, Middle East, India, Africa and Oceania.
