But there’s one Nissan you’d never really contemplate giving that treatment to – it’s the little EV, the zero-emission Leaf is perfectly reasonable omission from the Nismo-powered drift roster.

Autocar’s Matt Prior – to his credit – has the fortitude to get out and give it a go. The electric front-driver isn’t quite a perfect drift platform, but he manages to get it sliding – and as there’s a foot-actuated e-brake, it’s all in the steering.

Not much smoke though, we can’t see him taking on our own Mad Mike anytime soon.
