Panel to discuss research papers

Two research papers on future data and skills requirements for intelligent transport here will be launched at a May 30 event in Wellington.

The papers are “Data opportunities for intelligent mobility” from Chris Bowie of Opus, and “Technology related transport skill requirements and availability” from Julian Williams of Berl and Professor Doug Wilson of the University of Auckland.

Research for the papers was undertaken last year.

A panel discussion follows on the topic “Where to next – a private sector and government sector perspective”. Panellists include Andrew Gurr of ITS New Zealand (ITS NZ), Sandy Fong from the Ministry of Transport (MoT) and Henry Pretorious from the NZ Transport Agency (NZTA).

MoT chief executive Peter Mersi is scheduled to address the presentation.

The launch is being held by ITS NZ, the NZTA and the Transport Knowledge Hub.
