Passenger EVs lead auto import slump
Imports of vehicles, parts, and accessories fell $283m (28%) to $713 million in March 2024 compared to the same period last year led by a sharp decline in electric passenger cars.
Passenger cars fell $105m (18%) to $468m for the period which included a $72m decline (66%) in electric passenger cars to $38m, according to Stats NZ.
