Perseus aims for EV SUV in Europe by late 2027
British-headquartered Perseus EV premium passenger brand intends debuting a compact SUV in European markets by late 2027.
Perseus says it will soon announce global OEM and Tier-1 partnerships required to bring its first vehicle to mass-market production.
The company says it will license a proven EV platform from a European OEM group, while it is collaborating with an Italian design and engineering house for interior and exterior styling, pre-concept development, prototyping, serial engineering, testing and validation requirements.
Perseus is partnering with artificial intelligence (AI) technology and automotive software specialist Human Machine Interface (HMI).
Operating a direct-to-consumer sales model, combining an online sales platform with brand experience centres, will enable Perseus to cut distribution costs and enhance direct customer engagement, it says.
The Perseus team includes former senior executives from Jaguar Land Rover, Lotus, Bentley and INEOS Automotive, led by Perseus Motor Corporation founder, chairman and chief executive Mohammed Yehya El Bakkali.
“The launch of Perseus marks an exciting new chapter in global automotive innovation,” he says.
“Our ambition is clear – to create a premium value British EV brand that delivers emotionally captivating design, cutting-edge performance and a best-in-class intelligent AI-enabled and software-defined customer experience.”
