Porsche sells higher share of electrified cars

Porsche electricied sales

Porsche significantly increased the share of electrified vehicles it sold in the first quarter of 2025.

About 71,470 cars were handed to customers worldwide between January and March, 38.5% of which were electrified, says Porsche, adding the  share comprises 25.9% all-electric vehicles and 12.6% plug-in hybrids (PHEVs).

The Panamera recorded the strongest growth among the sports car manufacturer’s six model series, with an increase of 27%, says Porsche, adding Macan deliveries grew by 14%, with most of the examples delivered having an all-electric drive.

Among the sales regions, North America continues to be the largest market – 20,698 deliveries representing a 37% increase compared to the same period last year, says the brand.

Worldwide, deliveries were 8% below the previous year’s figures for the first three months of the year, while the sales structure across the individual regions remained very balanced, it says.

“The Macan performed very well in the first quarter and, with the all-electric variant, is making a significant contribution to our increased electrification rate. Overall, we have a very balanced powertrain mix that reflects the different preferences of our customers, globally,” says Porsche AG sales and marketing executive board member Matthias Becker.

“We will continue to meet the diverse requirements of our customers in the future with a product strategy that includes all three drive variants for two-door sports cars, sports sedans and sports SUVs well into the 2030s.”

In Europe (excluding Germany), Porsche delivered 18,017 vehicles in the first quarter of 2025 – 10% less than in 2024.

About 9471 cars were handed to customers in China (down 42 per cent). The main reasons for the decline here remain the continuing tense economic situation in the Chinese market and Porsche’s focus on value-oriented sales, which aims to balance demand and supply, says Porsche.

It says overseas and emerging markets were up 6% with 15,789 deliveries.

Becker says customer demand remains at “solid” for the rest of the year
