Porsche has taken the wraps off its long-awaited second all-electric model, the new Macan.

Available in two models, the Macan 4 starting at $166,500, and the Macan Turbo priced at $223,000, are expected to hit the roads in the 4th quarter of 2024.

The Macan 4 and Turbo models feature PSM electric motors on both front and rear axles, ensuring efficient and consistent power output. The Macan 4, with up to 300 kW of overboost power, can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds, while the more powerful Macan Turbo, boasting up to 470 kW, takes 3.3 seconds.

A key feature of these models is the 100kWh lithium-ion battery, integral to the newly developed Premium Platform Electric (PPE) with 800-volt architecture. This advanced system allows for fast charging at up to 270 kW, enabling the battery to charge from 10 to 80 percent in approximately 21 minutes.

The Macan offers a WLTP range of up to 613 km.

In terms of design, the new Macan models maintain the classic Porsche aesthetic with sporty proportions and coupé-like lines. Michael Mauer, Vice President Style Porsche, highlighted that the all-electric Macan continues to embody the brand identity as a sports car in its segment.

Practicality is not compromised in the new Macan. It offers up to 540 litres of luggage space, with an additional ‘frunk’ under the bonnet. The maximum towing capacity is an impressive 2000kg.

The cockpit is spacious and modern, with a combination of digital and analogue control elements, including a free-standing 12.6-inch instrument cluster and a 10.9-inch central display. The Macan Turbo also features a head-up display with augmented reality technology.

In terms of performance, the Macan models are equipped with all-wheel drive, electronically controlled Porsche Traction Management, and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus. The Turbo model comes standard with air suspension, while the Macan 4 has steel-spring suspension, both featuring Porsche Active Suspension Management with two-valve technology.

Since its debut in 2014, Porsche has delivered over 800,000 Macan models globally. This all-electric successor, produced in a net carbon neutral manner at the Porsche Plant Leipzig, is poised to continue this success story.
