Public opening of Bombay hyperchargers

Scores of guests from throughout the country are expected at the public opening of ChargeNet NZ’s Bombay hyperchargers on November 28 at 1pm.

The community event celebrates the launch of the fastest publicly available chargers in New Zealand, with EV owners able to test the hyperchargers at the Motorway Service Centre, 2038 Great South Road, Bombay, Auckland, and meet others sharing their EV knowledge and experience with the public.

The hyperchargers allowing charging for up to six EVs simultaneously.

Specific EV models can charge at the 300kW hyperchargers six times faster than on ChargeNet’s standard 50kW charging stations, enabling the newest generation of EVs to add 300km of charge in only 10 minutes.

This world-class initiative demonstrates that as a country we are keeping pace with technological developments and supporting the next generation of EVs, ChargeNet says.

The Dual 300kW hyperchargers are the first of their kind in New Zealand and became available in August but will be officially opened Saturday.
