Tesla Model 3 February delivery in Europe

Tesla Model 3 reservation holders in Europe are being advised to configure their cars for delivery from February 2019.

The Model 3 performance (530km range) and all-wheel drive (544km range) can now be ordered for that month.

Tesla earlier confirmed the Model 3 will have a combined charging system (CCS) port in Europe, along with Australia and New Zealand.

It is retrofitting superchargers with dual charge cables to support both CCS and Type 2 charging standards.

Right-hand drive markets, like the United Kingdom and Australia/New Zealand, can expect the car around “mid-2019,” according to Tesla chief executive officer Elon Musk.

Model 3 displays are already being mounted in selected UK stores, and the cars were shown in New Zealand and Australia from mid-August 2018.

Electrek reports it has heard from France, Sweden, Norway, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain “and a few others” about the European configuration notice. Only the performance long-range AWD and the long-range AWD models can be ordered at the moment for delivery in February, Electrek says.

It says the Tesla Model 3 in Germany is about 57,900 euros for the long range version and 68,600 euros for the performance.

In France, the Tesla Model 3 Grand autonomy with all-wheel drive is available from 53,500 euros (eco bonus deducted) and the performance from 64,300 euros (eco bonus deducted).

Spanish prices start from 59,100 euros for the version with dual engine and all-wheel drive and 70,100 euros for the top-of-the-range version.

In the Netherlands the long-range version with a 74kWh battery and AWD starts at 58,800 euros, the performance version at 69,700 euros.

Worldwide, Tesla Model 3 reservations are around 450,000, Electrek says, adding the timing couldn’t be better with Tesla getting its stock to US customers before a federal US$7500 tax credit expires, then putting the Model 3 into Europe in 2019 as US demand slows.

An “affordable” US$35,000 base Model 3 is expected to be produced within about six months.
