Toyota New Zealand confirms bZ4x arrival in 2023

Toyota New Zealand chief executive Neeraj Lala has confirmed that the all-electric Toyota bZ4x SUV will be coming to the local market in 2023.

In a media statement responding to the amendments of the Clean Car Discount (CCD) announced by the Labour Government on May 2, Lala says Toyota New Zealand is focusing its efforts on securing as many models as possible of the ten recently announced battery electric vehicles in Japan.

The bZ4x shares a platform with the Subaru Solterra and the Lexus RZ both of which are also destined for New Zealand.

Lala says he is saddened by the potential impact the announced changes to the CCD on July 1, 2023 will have upon Toyota customers who have placed orders for vehicles but may not receive them by that date.
