UBCO among export business awards finalists
Tauranga-headquartered electric utility bike firm UBCO is among 57 finalists and nominees in the New Zealand International Business Awards 2022 for export businesses.
Winners across the 10 award categories, plus a Supreme Award chosen by judges, will be revealed on October 27 at a gala awards dinner in Auckland.
The awards are run by New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, celebrating the success of national businesses on the world stage and recognising excellence and innovative practice.
A new award this year is the Excellence in Brand Storytelling, which includes UBCO whose chief executive Katherine Sandford – recently featured in the EVs and Beyond August magazine – is among finalists in the Inspiring Women Leaders category.

“After all we’ve been through during the last few years, it’s now more important than ever to acknowledge New Zealand businesses for their successes,” says convenor of judges David Downs. “Yes, many have struggled during the pandemic, however there are also inspiring stories of those who have innovated, pivoted, and thrived.”
Finalists and nominees also include CarbonClick which can help reduce carbon footprints, Dawn Aerospace, Parkable which does smart parking management, and Wellington Drive Technologies.
