Vector prevents formation of thousands of kilos of CO2
Since Vector began installing chargers in November 2015, it has served 31.01MWh of electricity, potentially saving as much as 41,217.68kg of CO2 from being emitted into the atmosphere.
Weekly rapid charger totals for week ending August 7
At Hobson St there were on average 11 charging session per day, the energy consumed was 0.62 and the duration of the charge was 30.4 minutes; at Newmarket there were on average 13 charging session per day, the energy consumed was 0.22 and the duration of the charge was 11.6 minutes; at Silverdale there were on average seven charging session per day, the energy consumed was 0.32 and the duration of the charge was 19.2 minutes; and at Greenlane there were on average seven charging sessions per day, the energy consumed was 0.30 and the duration of the charge was 23.2 minutes.
The busiest station over the past week was Newmarket, with 91 charges. The average number of charging sessions recorded was 39 sessions; the average length of a charging session was 20.83 minutes; and the megawatt hours consumed amounted to 1.47MWh.
The average electric car can drive 5,754 km on every MWh of electricity served. And on average, an average medium sized petrol car emits 0.231kg CO2 emissions per km.
