The electric vehicle (EV) gathering on Sunday to celebrate Vector’s launch of a standard charger at the Museum of Transport and Technology was a hit.

Timed to end with National Drive Electric Week and in conjunction with the Better NZ Trust, the event saw the largest gathering of EVs the country has ever seen, with over 70 EVs onsite, including the Tesla Model S, BMW i3, Nissan Leaf, Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-in Hybrid and many more.

Vector chief executive Simon Mackenzie says the event highlights the increasing uptake and popularity of EVs as more charging stations become available around Auckland.
