Video: EVs at EROAD expo

EVs and Beyond managing editor Richard Edwards spoke to fleet operators about vehicle electrification at the EROAD Fleet Expo in Wellington recently.

His interest was sparked years ago by the Holden (Chevrolet) Volt and, as past president of the New Zealand Motoring Writers’ Guild, Edwards says EVs have come to dominate the guild’s Car of the Year awards, including the BMW i3, Jaguar i-Pace, Hyundai Ioniq 5 and the BYD Atto 3.

Edwards explained to the EROAD Fleet Expo audience that EVs are growing in New Zealand with last year a “big one” for EV registrations – the Tesla Model Y, Model 3 and the BYD Atto 3 leading the charge.
