Watch: First right-hand drive walkaround of BYD Shark 6

BYD’s new globally launched Shark plug-in hybrid electric ute is now in New Zealand and was revealed on the opening day of the National Fieldays at Hamilton’s Mystery Creek.

Managing editor Richard Edwards was there to get a sneak peek and find out more details on the plug-in hybrid electric ute.

The Shark will boast a range of up to 840km and acceleration from zero to 100km/h in just 5.7 seconds.

It offers a towing capacity of up to 2.5 tonnes and payload of 830kg. Tray volume is quoted at 1450 litres. It will come with a six-year, 150,000km warranty.
