Welcome to the EVs and Beyond July 2023 magazine.

A lift in EV sales and enquiries has been seen this month by EV dealers, and that’s in spite of a traditionally slow July due to winter and school holidays.

Most EV dealers are uncertain whether the trend will continue, some pointing to the cost of living hitting people and what may happen after the general election on October 14.

New EVs are hitting our shores in bigger numbers with prices also tending to drop, and more Chinese EV brands are evident.

Tesla is expecting great things here, as evidenced by the official opening in late July of its Tesla Auckland South sales, service, parts and delivery centre. You can read more about it in this issue.

We also report on the introduction of EVs to the New Zealand Police fleet, NZ Post’s hydrogen fuel cell truck trial, charging of electric aircraft, and check out the arrival of a Monarch electric tractor at a Central Otago cherry orchard.

There’s more on the coming Electro Mobility Summit in Auckland, who gets what in the latest low emission transport funding rounds, what’s happening in the electric bike field, and solar outcomes.

Check out what EVs are coming or here – especially on our dealer pages – and the move to electrify trucks.

We have plenty for your reading pleasure in the latest issue of EVs and Beyond.
