Welcome to the latest EVs and Beyond magazine

In this issue we see how Toyota’s electric car stacks up, review a VW PHEV, and check out government policies around EVs and what may be coming,

EVs and Beyond pays tribute to founder Vern Whitehead.

Secondhand EV dealers have seen little impact from the Clean Car Discount’s end from December 31 and the introduction of road user charges for EVs on April 1 – so far.

However, new EV sales appear to have “plateaued” or nearly stalled in many cases.

But it’s traditionally a slow time for most vehicle dealers, and most we spoke to don’t seem all that bothered, some confidently picking EV interest to climb again soon.

A few dealerships are suggesting the changes may help stop some internal combustion engine (ICE) dealers flogging a few EVs to balance the books as well.

We will wait and see what happens – and report on any other changes.

Meanwhile, free public EV charging from Vector is ending in Auckland with ChargeNet’s acquisition of eight Vector sites there.

And we report on OEM Audio/EV Power’s new updated portable EV charger.

Plus we have stories on EV shipping, electric tuk tuks in New Zealand, a Locky Docks update, MegaWatt charging from ABB and Singer for Auckland’s electric ferries, our Dealer Pages, NZ highlights, global advances, and much more.
