Z Energy has introduced a new electric vehicle (EV) charge card and online portal aimed at making it easier for New Zealand businesses to manage their EV fleets.

The new Z charge card, which replaces the company’s previous business charge tags, features tap-and-go functionality and is available to eligible business customers across the country. It comes with no upfront costs and integrates with simplified monthly billing.

To complement the card, Z has also launched Business Charging Online, a web-based platform allowing fleet managers to oversee multiple charge cards from a central dashboard. The tool enables users to assign cards to specific vehicles or drivers, order new cards, and suspend or cancel cards as needed.

Rebecca Wilson, Head of Energy Business Solutions at Z, says the company is focused on making EV adoption as seamless as possible for its commercial customers.

“We support thousands of businesses with our Z Business fuel card, and we know how beneficial this product is. That’s why we’ve created a similar offer for EV fleet operators,” Wilson says. “Our aim is to provide practical and efficient tools for businesses of all sizes.”

Z operates 179 public charging bays across 55 locations from Taipa to Queenstown and also supplies workplace charging solutions for customers needing depot or on-site infrastructure.

Each business account is supported by a dedicated account manager, with the portal offering tailored insights into EV charging activity across Z’s network.

The move forms part of Z’s broader strategy to help customers transition away from fossil fuels.

“We recognise that all businesses are different,” Wilson says. “Whether you’re running a fleet of two or 20 EVs, our goal is to support your journey.”

More details are available at Z’s website under “On the go charging – Z Energy.”
