Zenobē opens $100m truck electrification funding
UK-based fleet electrification specialist Zenobē has opened expressions of interest for a $100 million truck electrification funding programme, with heavy vehicle operators in New Zealand and Australia invited to apply.
The initiative, part of the Zenobē Fleet Electrification Programme, aims to accelerate the shift to zero-emission transport by reducing upfront costs and simplifying the transition for medium and large commercial fleets.
Originally announced at the Freight Forward conference in Canberra last month, the programme is designed to provide a commercially viable pathway to electrification, particularly for operators planning to transition within the next 12 to 36 months.
Zenobē says the funding model removes key barriers by covering infrastructure and vehicle costs upfront, while offering a fully managed approach to fleet electrification.
Programme features include no upfront capital costs for vehicles or charging infrastructure, reduced peak electricity demand, and lower operating costs. The company also provides end-to-end delivery, including feasibility studies, system design and commercial proposals at no cost prior to commitment.
The programme is open to organisations operating medium to large heavy vehicle fleets with depot-based operations or predictable duty cycles, such as end-to-end freight routes.
Key sectors expected to benefit include logistics and freight, waste and municipal services, bus and passenger transport, and service fleets across energy, industrial and construction industries.
Zenobē country director Australia and New Zealand Gareth Ridge says the goal is to make electrification commercially viable for operators.
“Our goal is simple, to make the transition total cost of ownership neutral so the sustainable choice is also the commercial one,” he says.
Fleet operators can submit an expression of interest through Zenobē’s website.
