New e-scooter and bicycle sharing at Singapore Science Park

A six-month trial to rent e-scooters or bikes starts this week for staff and visitors at the Singapore Science Park One.

The trial running until December 13 is a collaboration between Ascendas-Singbridge Group, the park’s master developer, and start-up Neuron Mobility.

There will be 50 e-scooters and 20 bicycles available from six parking zones within the 29-hectare park.

Users can download an app, available for both Android and iOS devices, to unlock both the e-scooters and bikes, which will be available at a rate of NZ50 cents per 15 minutes.

“The scheme is aimed at supplementing the shuttle bus and public transport services within the park,” Ascendas-Singbridge deputy group chief executive Manohar Khiatani says.

“The trial will allow us to gauge receptivity to the scheme and monitor usage so that we can improve intermodal connectivity and point-to-point travel within Singapore Science Park One.”

Neuron Mobility chief executive Zachary Wang describes the park as an “excellent test-bed location” for the scheme.
Khiatani says the scheme could extend to Singapore Science Park Two, as well as other properties in Singapore and the region.
