Steve Greenwood moves to Drive EV

Former EV Central Taupo sales manager Steve Greenwood has moved literally up the road to begin his new business Drive EV.

While the new dealership specialising in just EVs is open online, its yard at 60 Tuwharetoa Street is being renovated and is just over a month away from opening.

It will be able to accommodate up to 40 EVs, Greenwood says.

Drive EV will establish an education centre at the yard for people to learn more about EVs and for EV owners to talk about their experiences.

Skype interviews and a series of video guides will be available for people to learn about EVs.
Drive EV intends supplying all makes and models of electric cars like the Nissan Leaf, Renault Zoe, BMW i3 and vans such as the Nissan e-NV200 throughout New Zealand.

Greenwood says the new venture is a partnership with the site owner, and Greenwood’s own partner, Mindy, will take on the role of office manager.

“I’m proud and excited to announce the online opening of our new start-up business,” he says.
“Support from the EV community has been inspiring.”

Greenwood worked for the Ford and Mazda franchise dealership Central Motor Group for about six years and helped set up its EV Central speciality side more than a year ago.

Meanwhile, Greenwood is taking EV orders for his new company Drive EV and has stock from the United Kingdom and Japan arriving in the next few weeks.
